Saying Goodbye

Steel rose into the blue
engines burned fuel,
fuzzing the landscape so
mountains bent
and shimmered in the vapour
stream. Words
stuck in my throat
as if the tears swallowed
had drowned my voice.

Glad you made it, friend. Thank you for your comments, they're always appreciated.

(I've had a thought that the word 'fuel' might be unneeded. Still thinking about this one.)

I love this-

tears swallowed
had drowned my voice.

Such a wonderful description of something that I would guess is universally known.

Hugs,
